I had Powershot G2 and I guess, that's the first camera they had put this type
of screen mechanism. After some time of use, the wires connecting the LCD
with the camera body through the swivel got cut and came out of the soldered
connection. If I open the LCD screen, the camera stopped working showing an
error "E24". Worked okay through the viewfinder. It had happened a week after
the warranty period and Canon said that they will fix it for $148. Worst part
was that there was no color coding of the cables going from one component
to another, else I could have fixed it myself.
I still wonder and as they show it in the movies, all the bombs have color coded
wiring from timer to fuse, etc., of course, if someone wants to diffuse it.
Pros: Flippable screen is very helpful in taking pictures when you want to hold
the camera above or below your head level. Just adjust the screen and either
stretch your arms up to take the picture.
BTW, have you looked at the Nikon Coolpix series. I liked their point-n-shoot
cameras.Statistics: Posted by lilGenie — Thu Sep 20, 2007 2:36 pm
