EPL: Are you worried yet?
Now that deadline day has passed, how do you feel about your club's chances? Did they fill
the gaping holes in their lineup?
Using the McLaughlin scale - On a scale of 0 to 10, with 0 representing zero possibility, and 10
representing metaphysical certitude...
what is the chance that your club will secure a top 4 finish?
For Newcastle, the problem for the last 10 years or more hasn't been scoring goals... its been a
shaky defence. Big Sam tried to overhaul team defence this summer, bringing in Enrique, Cacapa,
Rozehnal and Geremi, but there was still room for more improvement. It didn't help when Carr
and Ramage were hurt last week, but Sam came through and landed Faye from Bolton and
Beye from OM (he'll turn out to be a steal,) both quality signings in my book. It's too bad they
had to let Nobby Solano go, but he's a class guy and deserved to have his request filled.
On the McLaughlin scale, I give them a 4 out of 10 chance to make the top four this season.
This is the most talented squad they've had in a while, and they've got a real shot to sneak
past usual suspects and nab a top slot.

p.s. I think the Prime Minister of Canada did a great job in goal for them the past few games.
He's a consummate pro and a loyal United player... but now it's time for Steven Harper to
concentrate on his day job.
