Ok, I have my new system running just fine, but for some unknown reason
I have a "unknown device" in my device manager.

I have installed all mobo drivers, sound card drivers, video drivers etc. But
I can't figure out wtf this unknow device is. I have uninstalled it but it
keeps coming back. It showed up when I first installed windows XP and
before I plugged anything extra into my USB ports, so I don't think its that.

anyone have any ideas?

Quisp, you of all people, know that could be any thing. Now thinking you booted up with just keyboard, mouse and monitor attached. I would have to guess something on the motherboard.

The only thing I see missing in devise manager is SCSI and RAID controllers.

I am going to try re-installing all drivers for mobo and see what happens.
I think a driver got mucked or unsigned etc. I'll keep ya posted.

Yep flashed the bios right away when I got the system working.
Reinstalled all mobo drivers. So my next thing is to take out my sound
card and see if it goes away. grrrr.

I do remeber installing something and the driver wasn't signed but I can't
remember what it was and that is probably what it is. I just need to track
it down now.
