I wish I could strike because my job is too big of a workload.
Everybody in this economy is doing the work of all the people that have been laid-off.
Suck it up, and get to work.
**I appreciate that teachers are having trouble teaching due to class sizes and cut-backs,
but if they think the government is going to hire 2x more teachers to get back to class sizes of 20, they are dilusional.
It will never happen.
**Do they ever mention that they would be willing to give up their 3 months holidays per year to lower class sizes?
I bet they are asking for more money as well, they (strikers of all industries) always say it's not about the money, but in the end it is always the sticking point.

Das Schlachtfeld ist mein Haus.
being someone who is related to teachers take this into account.
1) babysitters make an average of $5 bucks an hour.
2) have no training
3) have to teach the children they are watching nothing.
so if we convert this to a teacher with a class of 30 children it equals
30x5 = $150 an hour
9-3 is 6 hours a day x 150 = 900 bucks a day.
even if we said teachers do it 20 days a month for 10 months = 200 paid days.
900 x 200 = 180 000 a year.
to babysit.

In the state of WA, the maximum amount of school age kids a single day care staff person can over see is 15. Now how in the hell can any one expect a teacher to properly teach 30+ students?
I know they've been doing it for years. Most of the classes I attended had over 30 students. And, that was a long time ago. I also know a lot of kids fall through the cracks in the system do to this.

The reason I talk to myself is that I'm the only one whose answers I accept.

With this fault, teacher pay in Washington sucks.
Therefore, less teachers in Washington.
Therefore, larger class sizes for the remaining teachers.
Therefore, workload increases for teachers.
Therefore, quality of teaching decreases.
Solution to fault, Make Washington state more attractive for prospective teachers by increasing teacher wages.
Note: Although I'm sure there are other issues too. I cannot define them as easily as this one.
