Grand Theft Auto IV fix
Seems I wasn't the only one who ran into this problem and it took me *forever* to finally discover the solution, so I thought I'd post on here to save anyone else the trouble of searching.
If you're getting the error message "GTA IV FATAL ERROR: RMN40" when trying to run:
First, make sure you have SP1 (for Vista) or SP3 (XP) and you can check this by right-clicking "My Computer" on your desktop and select "Properties". Should show your current service pack there at the top. And if still encountering error message (like I was) follow the instructions below to fix:
1. Go into the GTA 4 folder and locate "LaunchGTAIV"
2. Right click and select "Properties"
3. Select the "Compatibility" tab
4. Under "Compatibility mode", click the box to check off "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
5. Drop down the menu and select "Windows 2000"
If that does not work : Update the drivers.
